AG-1: a strong green laser pen without the fuss

The ACE Lasers AG-1 is the most straightforward way into class 3B lasers. It is a strong green laser pen at 532 nm with an output of 5–50 mW, powered by two ordinary AAA batteries that are included in the box. No charging, no special cells: insert the batteries and it is ready. That simplicity is why the AG-1 is the ACE laser ordered most often by our UK customers.

Ideal for night-time pointing

In the dark the AG-1 produces a visible green beam and a dot that can be seen up to around 2 km (indicative). That makes it a natural tool for astronomy clubs and stargazing guides: the beam appears to reach the stars and everyone in the group can follow it. At dusk it is also useful for moving birds over shorter distances, and for signalling outdoors.

Batteries

The AG-1 uses two AAA batteries, available everywhere. Remove them if you will not use the laser for a few weeks, to prevent leakage. If you prefer a rechargeable laser with more reach, look at the AGP-3 Pro or the compact AGP-2 Pro Mini.

AG-1 or AG-2?

The AG-2 offers the same output range and battery type and adds a pattern cap. If you only need a dot and a beam, the AG-1 is the logical choice. Want green, red and violet together? The AG-1 + AR-1 + AV-1 set includes this laser.

Safe use

This is a class 3B laser: direct exposure and reflections from glass, water or metal can injure the eye instantly. Never aim it at people, at the eyes of animals, at vehicles or at aircraft, and never into the sky near flight paths. Although this is the lowest output in our green range, it is still class 3B: treat it with the same care. Wear laser safety goggles rated for the wavelength, keep the laser away from children and store it securely.
