ARP-2 Pro Mini: compact high power red laser

The ACE Lasers ARP-2 Pro Mini gives you the red output of the Pro series, 50–500 mW, laser class 3B, in a body of only 12 × 2 × 2 cm. That makes it the most portable high-power red laser in our range, intended for users who always want a strong red dot to hand outdoors without the length of a full-size laser.

What to expect

A red dot is visible over a shorter distance than a green one of equal output, because the eye is less sensitive to red. Indicatively, the ARP-2 Pro Mini shows a dot at approx. 200 m in daylight, approx. 1 km at dusk and approx. 2 km in the dark. That is ample for pointing out features in the landscape, marking a target for a colleague or signalling outdoors. If you need maximum range, look at the green AGP-2 Pro Mini, which has the same compact format.

Battery and charging

The 16340 cell keeps the laser short but holds less energy than an 18650 cell. Keep a charged PowerFox 16340 2-pack in a battery case for longer outings, and charge with a charger made for lithium-ion cells such as the PowerFox charger. Remove the battery when the laser will not be used for some time.

Mini or full size?

The ARP-2 Pro Mini has no safety keys and switches with a one-press on/off button. Choose the ARP-1 Pro if you want safety keys, a momentary button (hold to fire) and a larger 18650 battery. Choose the ARP-2 Pro Mini if size matters most. Both are listed under high power red laser pointers.

Safe use

This is a class 3B laser: direct exposure and reflections from glass, water or metal can injure the eye instantly. Never aim it at people, at the eyes of animals, at vehicles or at aircraft, and never into the sky near flight paths. Because a compact laser is easily carried, make sure it is always stored securely and never left where others can pick it up. Wear laser safety goggles rated for the wavelength, keep the laser away from children and store it securely. Sold to adults 18+ and businesses only; as the buyer you are responsible for complying with UK law. Read our laser safety guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the ARP-2 Pro Mini and the ARP-1 Pro?
Both have an output of 50–500 mW. The ARP-2 Pro Mini is shorter (12 cm) and runs on a 16340 cell; the ARP-1 Pro uses an 18650 cell and has safety keys. The Mini has no safety keys and a one-press on/off button; the ARP-1 Pro has a momentary button that fires only while held down.
Which battery fits?
A 16340 lithium-ion cell, for example from the PowerFox 16340 battery (1800 mAh).
Can I use it for presentations?
No. A class 3B laser is not suitable for indoor presentations. It is intended for outdoor use only.
